The Greco di Tufo, anciently called Aminea, is the noblest white grape variety of southern Italy. According to Aristotle, the variety of Aminee comes from Thessaly, home of Aminei, that settled in Campania and planted Greco vines on the slopes of Vesuvius. The site Tufo has for centuries been the place of choice for the cultivation of Greco in virtue of the outstanding features of his land. From the chalky soils of Santa Paula, Feudi di San Gregorio select the best grapes from the vineyards to give birth to Cutizzi, one of the most successful expression of all Greco in South Italy.
