Friuli produces not only great white wines, but also boasts an enviable production of red wines. Pignolo, like Refosco and Schioppettino, is an indigenous grape of Friuli. It threatened to disappear almost completely at the beginning of 1900, after centuries of "honorable service", because of phylloxera. In the 70s started a process of recovery of the ancient vineyards of Friuli and Pignolo, thanks to a century-old row found at the Abbey of Rosazzo, returned to intrigue lovers of wine of Friuli and elsewhere. This Pignolo La Tunella, aged in barrels for over 4 years, has all the characteristics of an important and structured wine, with an amazing complexity of flavors and a very special personality.
